This work directly supports our efforts as stewards of state-owned aquatic lands to ensure the protection of aquatic habitats and species while fostering public access and water-dependent activities for future generations.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Responsibilities: This position is responsible for assisting with the support, maintenance, enhancements, and customizations of business systems used within the Aquatic Resources Division. This includes providing support for DNRs enterprise, agency-wide system, representing Aquatic Resources as a business expert and member of a cross-functional support team. Duties include the following: Participate in the development, design, customization, support, and implementation of technical applications to maintain and extend the functionality of the division’s systems to meet business needs. Participate in building prototypes to test new features and functionality, which are demoed to users to ensure they meet the business needs. Works closely with business partners to establish and refine requirements, and understand how to utilize the capabilities, features, and limitations of the technology to create, update, and maintain solutions corresponding to the identified business needs.Elicit business requirements from partners and translate them to technical requirements to develop new features and functionality to ensure business needs are being met.Serves as a Business Expert, representing the business needs on behalf of the Aquatic Resources Division as a member of a cross-functional team. This team is tasked with the ongoing maintenance and support of the agency’s enterprise data system, which is used across all divisions.Collaborates with the team to prioritize system issues based on a common set of criteria for determining issue severity.Works closely with technical IT staff, providing guidance and business program expertise to ensure all system issues are logged, addressed, and resolved.Updates and maintains existing functional specifications related to the business requirements.Uses APEX code and SOQL query language to locate and modify records meeting specific criteria.Thoroughly analyze, test, and validate all aspects of newly developed or updated applications, functionality, and/or changes to existing applications before deployment to the production environment to the end user. Thoroughly validate data as needed, including integrated data originating in other systems. Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving any issues found during testing or validation.Participate in performing refreshes of the test environments with production data to ensure development and testing are based on current, relevant data.Participates in developing and executing test scripts (user stories/scenarios/edge cases) and performs testing scenarios applicable to user processes, as needed.Participates in performing data validations before and following system updates and upgrades, as well as following the introduction of new codes or functionality.Analyze boilerplate contract language and document structure to convert documents to templates compatible with integrated document generation software.Participate in designing, implementing, testing, and documenting system workflows to provide solutions to the business as needed.Develop and maintain reference materials and provide initial and ongoing system trainings for users in the Aquatic Resources Division.Participate in providing technical advice, guidance, and hands-on support to resolve application issues.Provide data to satisfy both internal and external requests for information as needed, including public disclosure requests.Participate in providing technical support for Aquatic end users on the Agency’s enterprise leasing and financial system.Provide data to satisfy both internal and external requests for information as needed, including public disclosure requests.Participates in providing user and technical support for other business applications used within the Division as needed.Provides backup support to team members as needed.Participate in performing user maintenance, such as login creation and license assignment for new users, assigning permissions, login and license deactivation for users leaving their roles, and transferring record ownership from one user to another, for the Division application.Serves as a representative of the Aquatic Resources division as a business expert on system configuration, functionality, data management, and input processes as they relate to the Aquatic Resource Division's business and program needs.Provides consultation to users on system data and Aquatics business rules.Provides business expert technical advice and guidance to help resolve system issues.Participates in performing updates and additions to the agency enterprise data system configuration data tables related to Aquatic data.Troubleshoots and resolves user issues and errors. This includes but is not limited to determining the cause of user error messages and resolving various issues Aquatic Division users may encounter while working in our systems.
