Assistant, AG) in the Public Affairs Unit. This position can be located in Seattle or Olympia, Washington, and is not union-represented.Digital Communications Specialist (Admin. Position Description and Job DutiesThe Public Affairs Unit (PAU) is responsible for directing and managing all internal and external mass communication activities for the Attorney General (AG) and Office of the Attorney General (AGO). This position works collaboratively to organize, plan, and execute events, including press conferences, for the AG and other AGO officials. As a Digital Communications Specialist, you may be entrusted to perform some of the following essential functions: Communication Strategy: Assist the Communications Director and Deputy Director in planning and overseeing the execution and implementation of the AGO’s comprehensive communication strategy. Digital Strategy: Devise effective quality digital strategy and prepare high quality web content, social media content, informational materials, video, photography and other key deliverables for the AG to advance communications and AGO policy priorities. Contribute to the AGO’s website and printed materials. Create graphics for a variety of mediums including, but not limited to, social media, webpages, flyers, and emails, as needed. Graphic design, photography, and video skills are a priority for this position. Experience in Drupal is a plus.Engagement with Public: This position will lead the office’s efforts to establish and expand its own audience. Plan, coordinate, prepare and execute informational materials and events to news media and the public. Regularly update the AG’s social media accounts and website.Internal Engagement: Consult with AAGs, subject matter experts, and AGO staff to ensure accuracy of communication materials.Other: Maintains reliable and regular attendance and follows approved work schedule while adhering to AGO Policy I.20 – Flexible Work Schedules.
