Social Service Specialist 5 (SSS5) - Social Service Supervisor Are you ready to take your career in social services to the next level? Some of what you will do: Supervise, mentor, and coach Social Service Specialists & Nurse Care Consultants, ensuring their work meets program requirements and quality standards.Oversee the administration setting up services of the client’s choice.Coordinate with community partners, including tribes, residential facilities, and healthcare providers, to enhance service delivery.Address public and legislative inquiries, case audits, client complaints, and resolve conflicts.Conduct performance reviews, provide ongoing training, and initiate corrective action when necessary.Utilize technology and QA Monitoring Tool to track case management activities and maintain accurate records.Participate in state-wide initiatives, workgroups, and task forces to promote continuous improvement in service delivery.Who should apply? Professionals with one year of paid experience completing comprehensive assessments and developing individualized service plans for the elderly and disabled adult populations including determining the level of care to include care needs related to medical, dementia, and geriatric mental health treatment and interventions. AND either: A bachelor's degree in social services, human services, behavioral sciences, or an allied field and five years of paid social service experience performing functions equivalent to a Social Service Specialist 2. ORA master's degree* in social services, human services, behavioral sciences, or an allied field and one year of paid social service experience equivalent to a Social Service Specialist 3. OROne Year of experience as a Social Service Specialist 4 ORTwo years as a Social Service Specialist 3 (formerly Social Worker 3).ORFour years as a Social Service Specialist 2 (formerly Social Worker 2).*NOTE: A two-year master's degree in one of the above fields that included a practicum may be substituted for one year of paid social service experience.NOTE: Employees must successfully complete the formal training course sponsored by their division within one year of their appointment. Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities we are looking for: Proven leadership skills, with the ability to recruit, train, and supervise staff effectively.Strong background in behavioral health or mental health, particularly in managing clients with complex needs.Exceptional communication skills, enabling you to liaise with community partners, clients, and staff.Excellent organizational skills, able to manage multiple priorities and delegate tasks efficiently.Experience in Medicaid programs, with an understanding of laws, regulations, and policies related to long-term care.Problem-solving abilities to handle crises, resolve conflicts, and make critical decisions under pressure.Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and other software tools for documentation and reporting.Ability to adapt your teaching and coaching style to meet the needs of diverse learners within your team.Interested?
