DSHS's Behavioral Health Administration is seeking a Clinical Services Manager to oversee a competency restoration program at Behavioral Health and Treatment Centers - Maple Lane located in Grand Mound, WA, near Chehalis.
 
As a licensed psychologist, if you are looking for an exciting career within a recovery-oriented civil psychiatric center, this is the opportunity for you! In this unique role, you will serve as a leader in a civil program that is truly groundbreaking and the first of its kind within the state of Washington. You will have the unique opportunity to learn about forensic mental health, chronic mental illness, and competency restoration as well as the forensic evaluation system.
 
This is an opportunity for you to lead an interdisciplinary team within a well-functioning therapeutic environment and provide excellent treatment to assist our residents in their progress towards psychiatric stability and recovery. You will collaborate and coordinate with the psychiatric provider to be a co-petitioner on civil commitment petitions and/or less restrictive alternative petitions. Reporting directly to the BHTC Chief Clinical Officer, you will provide effective oversight to maintain compliance with certification and evidence-based treatment standards, state and federal regulations, and agency/division requirements. You will also provide reliable and sound guidance, consultation, and clinical assistance in the development and implementation of behavioral health treatment center policies and procedures related to clinical services.

A flexible work schedule may be considered for this role, as well as one telework day per week. Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
 
Some of what you will do
  • Lead and supervise psychologist 4s and psychiatric social worker 4s who oversee psychology associates, psychiatric social workers, and recreation specialists.
  • As court-liaison, complete treatment declarations and serve as co-petitioner with the psychiatric provider.
  • Provide clinical leadership to Program Specialists and Institutional Counselors.
  • Ensure the quality of evidence-based clinical services is maintained through individual and group supervision.
  • Conduct performance reviews annually for staff under direct supervision, including establishing specific, professional development goals.
  • Provide guidance to ensure that clinical records are accurate, current, and meet licensing regulations and policy.
  • Provide consultation and support to staff, including being available for staff to debrief about difficult situations.
  • Provide backup clinical care to residents when assigned staff are unavailable.
  • Provide information to leadership about in-service training offered to staff, assuring that it meets licensure standards and clinical needs.
  • Participate in and actively support community advisory committees; community needs assessments. Implement and maintain a variety of procedures to evaluate programs and services, to include active participation in BHA Strategic Plan/Results Map workgroups

   
Who should apply
Licensed Psychologists with a Ph.D. or PsyD, plus 3 years of post-doctoral experience; concurrent experience should include:
  • Providing evidence-based treatment to residents or patients within a residential behavioral health treatment center or psychiatric hospital setting.
  • Managing others and providing clinical supervision to professional staff.
  • Knowledge of civil commitment or experience with a civil population and petition work is preferred.
