The Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) is seeking a Legislative Analyst to join the BHA Government and Community Affairs Team. The Government and Community Affairs Team manages all legislative work across the administration with an exciting, evolving portfolio, and the team works closely and collaboratively. In this role, you will be the subject matter expert and lead in the areas of legislative coordination, policy and data analysis, and the DSHS Victim Witness Notification Program. Some of what you'll do: Manage the administration’s bill analysis workflow including the coordination, assignment, analysis, and tracking process during the legislative sessionDevelop and oversee the production and tracking of legislative and other executive level reportsProvide project management leadership and support for legislative projects Maintain legislative bill tracker throughout the Legislative Session Assist in communication regarding passed legislation and facilitate and oversee activities to ensure successful, accurate and timely bill implementationFacilitate internal coordination for constituent casework referrals from legislative officesLead the coordination and logistics for tours of BHA facilities and programs for legislative members and staff, local elected officials, county and city councilmembers and other external partiesAdminister the Victim Witness Notification (VWN) Program, including database management and notificationProvide timely, informative communications for victims, witnesses, victims’ next of kin, or victim advocatesCoordinate with BHA facilities along with other state agencies, victim service organizations, and attorneys for VWNWhat we're looking for: Excellent decision-making skillsAbility to build partnershipsExceptional communication skillsKnowledge of state legislature and legislative processes Ability to plan and organize various projects while utilizing resources to their potentialInnovation and creative solutions that add valueAbility to work outside of standard business hours during the legislative session (evenings, weekends, holidays)Who should apply?
