What are the responsibilities and job description for the DSHS DDA Attendant Counselor 1 position at State of Washington?
We have immediate opening for all shifts for a Direct Support Professionals at Lakeland Village Residential Habilitation Center. In this role, you will coach, teach, and mentor adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a homelike environment, working alongside a team of compassionate professionals who share your commitment to making a difference.
Some of what you will do:
- Perform personal care for adults, including hygiene, grooming, bathing and toileting.
- Provide specialized direct care, support, and training.
- Actively engage residents in all teaching opportunities to promote their maximum independence.
- Provide intervention to residents with complex support and service needs.
- Transport residents to appointments and activities on and off campus.
- Document and report on care provided and any changes.

Who should apply?
- Professionals with a High School Diploma/GED OR One year of experience working with people with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities.
- An existing Washington State Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is a plus but not required.

Evening and Night shifts include a shift differential in addition to the standard compensation rate. Opportunities performed on site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
