DSHS DDA Social and Health Consultant 4
Development Disabilities Administration (DDA) is seeking a Social and Health Program Consultant 4 to join the Office of the Assistant Secretary. This role is a great growth opportunity for someone who is interested in exercising their training and leadership skills and taking on a new challenge!
This position works collaboratively with headquarters staff, regional management staff, case resource managers, and social workers to implement a compliance and monitoring system that promotes uniform application of policies and procedures in the field and ensures compliance with state and federal statute and policies.
Some of what you will do:
- Maintain compliance and monitoring system that results in improved compliance with program rules and statewide consistency of policy, practice, and procedures.
- Review client files to assess for overall quality of file document; identify areas for improvement and opportunities for better service coordination identity and correct eligibility and authorization errors.
- Coordinate and compile monitoring results.
- Provide technical assistance related to statewide quality compliance policies and procedures.
- Establish business process improvements, design policies, create monitoring reports, provide recommendations and monitor corrective action plans.
- Provide onsite assistance and review of eligibility, assessments, payment authorizations and terminations, and case management functions.
- Coordinate with regional management to implement and monitor compliance with all DDA Field Service programs.
- Conduct data monitoring and work with complex data sets to determine areas where additional quality improvement methods and/or training may be necessary.

- Knowledge of principles and practices of program planning and management.
- Develop, plan, coordinate and provide staff training.
- Present complex information in a clear manner to diverse audiences.
- Act as a liaison between headquarters' staff, technical staff, and field services' staff to ensure good communication regarding user needs and system requirements.
- Communicate effectively (through oral and written forms of communication) with management, staff, peers, clients and families, counties and the public.
- Conduct data monitoring and work with complex data sets to determine areas where additional quality improvement methods and/or training may be necessary.
Who should apply?
One year of experience as a Social & Health Program Consultant 3.
Or
Two years of experience as a Social & Health Program Consultant 2.
Or
A master’s degree in social work, a health or social science, public administration, or a related field; and four years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs.
Or
A bachelor’s degree in social work, a health or social science, public administration, or a related field; and five years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs.
Or
A combination of professional/practical hands-on experience, of nine years, in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs.
*Note: A degree in Social Work must be from an educational program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
