Pierce County employees are eligible to receive an Orca Card for transportation needs. Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.  

Some of what you'll do

• Determine progressive physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians and caregivers; partner with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists and others regarding individual treatment plans
• Assess patients, plan and implement treatment programs which may include the use of physical agents, manual therapy, gait and balance training and therapeutic exercise
• Assess patients need for adaptive equipment and train staff in the proper use of the equipment
• Instruct and train other team members, and encourage and assist patients in performing physical activities
• Assist in providing direction and coordination of the physical therapy program

Job success will be measured by your ability to

• Provide clinical physical therapy leadership and direction to staff and interdisciplinary team
• Strength in conveying instruction and education behind the why
• A creative approach to support our patients

What we are looking for

• A valid license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the State of Washington
• Experience working in a healthcare setting, with a preference for those who have experience in psychiatric or behavioral health environments
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• At least five years of experience as a Physical Therapist, ideally with experience in both geriatric and psychiatric settings is preferred
