The Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) seeks to fill an IT Infrastructure Supervisor position. This full-time position is based in Olympia, Washington. This position may be eligible for teleworking up to 3 days per week after the initial onboarding period. Telework is a combination of in-building and assigned-site days. Position Overview
As an IT Infrastructure Supervisor at the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation and security of our network and telecommunications infrastructure. This position is based in Olympia, WA, and is integral to supporting the educational mission of OSPI by maintaining a robust and reliable IT environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise Staff : Provide direction and coaching to staff. Determine how work assignments best fit agency and division goals.
- Network Operations : Manage and support complex, agency-wide networking and routing, ensuring high availability and security.
- Security Measures : Plan, implement, and maintain robust security measures, including firewalls and filtering software, to protect against malicious activities.
- Architectural Vision : Lead the integration and implementation of a multifaceted network infrastructure, including LANs, WANs, Cloud Networking (Microsoft Azure), Security, and Cellular technologies.
- Process Improvement : Lead high-level process improvement initiatives to enhance program operations and support agency goals.
- Vendor Management : Oversee vendor performance and coordinate with agency leadership to optimize service delivery.
- Continuity Planning : Collaborate with the IT Operations Director to develop and implement continuity of operations plans.
Required Qualifications :
This position requires nine years of experience total through education, training or hands-on experience in a professional setting.
Compensation :
The annual compensation for the position is $90,060 to $121,116 per year and depends upon experience, educational background and qualifications. Geographic differentials may be applied based on the work location of the successful candidate. Washington State offers a generous benefit package including health, dental and life insurance, retirement and an optional deferred compensation program.
