The Opportunity
The Information Technology Office provides full scope IT services to all staff and resides under the Administrative Service Division. The IT Office is staffed under four main groups - Service Desk/Program Support, Application Development, Infrastructure and Systems Management, and Security.
This position works within the Information Technology Division's - Infrastructure & Systems Management (ISM) Group collaborating with the systems administrators, security analyst, network, and telecommunication engineers to integrate, maintain, monitor, document, and develop projects guided by industry best practices.
This position administers and troubleshoots current technology assets and processes for the entire agency throughout the state, which includes 20 remote sites. This position manages, configures, and deploys new or emerging technologies, with a focus on cloud services, manages virtual servers within the State Data Center, desktop applications, mobile and remote work platforms, automated processes, infrastructure capacity planning, assists with implementation of system metrics indicating the health and performance of infrastructure components and systems, advises IT leadership regarding technical infrastructure changes, and helps to ensure best IT practices align with business objectives.
Important Notes
This position is based full-time at the WSDA headquarters building located in Olympia Washington with the option to telework with managers approval. This is not a union represented position.
The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the preferred candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The typical starting salary range for this position is: $85,764.00 - $112,536.00 annually.

- Independently research, design, develop, and deploy Microsoft 365 solutions for the agency.
- Administer the Microsoft 365 environment, ensuring availability, reliability, and performance.
- Monitor system health and regularly review, analyze, and test systems for performance.
- Provide regular backups and restores as needed.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to maximize functionality and user experience.
- Collaborate with security to ensure compliance with federal, state, and WaTech standards.
- Implement and maintain access controls, ensuring a secure environment using the principle of least privilege (POLP).
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues within the environment and provide end-to-end rot cause analysis for problem management.
- Analyze industry-wide trends and make recommendations for improvements and efficiencies in system and network performance.
- Provide appropriate training and documentation in support of all aspects of the Microsoft 365 environment.
Provide professional, expert SharePoint support and administration, ensuring availability and security compliance.
- Create and administer site collections, including roles, content types, and workflows.

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues within the environment and provide end-to-end root cause analysis for problem management.
- Utilize PowerShell, PowerBI, or other tools to increase efficiency.
- Provide on-demand consultation, research, and user training.

- Design, plan, and implement Microsoft Azure Cloud-based technical solutions for management of various agency-wide business procedures and processes. The solutions provided must increase efficiency and effectiveness of agency employees and be fiscally sustainable long-term.
- Advise all IT Staff on architecture solutions utilizing cloud services, such as Microsoft Azure
- Oversee cloud to end-user desktop services for day-to-day employee usage
- Assist with coordinating and scheduling planned service interruptions and manages response notifications for unplanned outages.
