OneWa Solutions Architect (IT Architecture-Senior Specialist)WaTech: Leading the way forward!As a Washington Technology Solutions (WaTech) employee, you will have a unique opportunity to help advance the latest IT technologies and practices used by state government to meet the needs of Washington’s residents. Through teamwork, partnership, and collaboration WaTech works to transform public service through a connected government.About the positionThis position is within the Enterprise Architecture unit in the Architecture and Innovation Division (AID) within WaTech. The Enterprise Architecture group develops key strategies for advancing technology acquisitions across the state, ensures technology investments are sound and consistent with state policy, and advises agencies on architectural standards supporting successful technology management. This position works closely with the One Washington program As a OneWa Solutions Architect, you will be relied on to help agencies develop application architecture for new and existing technologies, focusing on those business applications with an overlap or required integration with enterprise applications. In this role you will work closely with the One Washington program, which is one of the state’s largest transformational technology programs and represents the digital transformation of a large share of enterprise processes and services to support administrative and financial business functions. You will enhance the One Washington program by providing architectural guidance and support for the implementation of the statewide enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution and agency migration of business from existing legacy systems to the new solution.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Some of what to expect with this role: Define standard architectural artifacts for new and existing business applications. Develop interface and data model standards for agency business applications. Work with agencies to document current-state architectures, collaborate on defining future-state architectures and develop gap plans.Assist agencies with developing an approach and strategy for remediating or retiring legacy systems reported to the project team. Track the status of activities and assist agencies with resolving technical challenges to meet milestone expectations. Lead the development of methodology and processes supporting the architectural analysis of IT solution implementation and transformation.Review and create workflows, process maps and architectural diagrams as required.Collect and maintain data from multiple sources, report on the status of relevant tasks to parties of interest. Review functional and non-functional requirements and technical documentation to ensure that proposed solutions are aligned with program goals and objectives.Advise agencies on IT solution implementation and transformation strategies that align with the state’s enterprise technology strategy and architecture.
