About the opportunity:
This position is within the Agency Technology Services (ATS) unit, which is located within the Technology and Operations (T&O) Division of WaTech and provides services to internal and external agency staff. This position is part of a team of Application Administrators and Application Developers within Agency Technology Services, providing administration of business-critical vendor systems and development of custom applications for delivery to the agency.
About the position:
As a Systems Administrator,you will be relied on to perform research, design and development of agency-wide DevOps solutions (built with PowerShell, Azure DevOps, Power Apps, SQL, Windows Server, GitHub Enterprise, etc.) which support Human Resources, Finance and divisional line-of-business requirements. This position is also responsible for developing custom back-end integration solutions to allow systems to communicate with each other and to automate critical administrative functions.
Some of what you can expect:
- Perform system disaster recovery planning, testing and execution to ensure optimal availability of applications.
- Perform user level administration and oversight of service area systems to ensure optimal system access.
- Establish and maintain system accounts and access.
- Manage assignment of requests for changes or improvements.
- Coordinate scheduling of server and system maintenance, backups and software loads.
- Generate system reports, database queries, and management reports.
- Migrate data from on-prem solutions to cloud solutions.
- Support technical updates and revises existing applications, programs, interfaces, servers, and vendor software.
- Build, maintain, and diagnoses database configurations following agency standards and industry best practices for services and customer agency databases.
- Implement database backup solutions, database software and management tool installations across the agency to support enterprise services and customer agencies.
- Develop performance, tuning and procedural code projects to manage server resources and perform tasks more efficiently.
- Perform Database Management System installs, updates and validates software as required.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Five years of experience developing and supporting enterprise level applications, including demonstrated experience with advanced customization, SQL databases, and scripting. This must include
- One year of experience and demonstrated proficiency developing, administering, migrating, and maintaining SharePoint, and Office 365 services.
- One year of experience and demonstrated proficiency developing and administering databases, including demonstrated experience with SSRS, SSIS, T-SQL.
- Technical and non-technical writing skills
- Proven experience managing source code using a source control product.
- Experience working with customers gathering business requirements and translating them into technical requirements.
Preference may be granted to applicants with the following:
- Experience using Microsoft's Azure DevOps or GitHub Enterprise in a team development environment.
- Proven DevOps experience, to include firewall requirements planning, server planning and administration in an IaaS environment.
- Knowledge of networking and telecommunications concepts.
- Knowledge of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
