This opportunity to apply for our full-time, swing shift Nursing Assistant Certified position at the historic Washington Soldiers Home in Orting, Washington, may not last long! Apply today!Please Note: The expected shift for this position is 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday, with every Monday and Tuesday off. *This position has been posted within the assigned pay range through Step L. Step M has not been published as this is considered the longevity step, in alignment with state HR compensation rules.*Position(s) at this location will also receive 5% Premium Pay for 24/7 facilities. Employees must physically work at the facility 3 days per workweek to qualify. In addition, we provide critical community services through a variety of programs, and at our four State Veterans Homes located in Orting, Port Orchard, Spokane, and Walla Walla. These locations provide Medicare and Medicaid nursing home care to Veterans, including, in some instances, their spouses, widows, or Gold Star Families. As a Nursing Assistant Certified, you'll assist in the delivery of nursing and nursing related care to vulnerable veterans in need of skilled nursing care. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Some of what you'll do: Assist residents with positioning, transferring and ambulation; ensure a safe and secure work environment, including preventative infection control methods.Travel aide as needed.Respond to call lights, internal and external emergencies, and facility codes.Record care, vital signs and observations.Assist residents with personal clothing, belongings and equipment; bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, etc.Assist with therapies and treatment under the direction of licensed personnel; motion exercises as needed.Accurately obtain and record vital signs and other resident data; document intake/output records.Perform basic nursing procedures such as applying anti-embolism stockings, applying creams or lotions, collecting specimens, etc.And more!
