Nature of Work
Under General Supervision, performs work at full performance level in implementation, evaluation of and technical assistance for the institutional parole office, to include but not limited to: registration of offenders required by law, releasing offenders back into society, serving as liaison between the inmate and the WV Parole Board, contacting community resources to arrange services for parolees, scheduling appointments for both families and victims for parole hearings, working with victim services, administering tests facilitation classes, compiling or overseeing the compilation of program compliance and status, collaborating with educational, health, social services, and rehabilitation agencies in provision services, and rehabilitation agencies in provision of services to inmate population, parole services, analysis and comprehension of program/service regulations, development and implementation of action plans to achieve desired results, coordination and collaboration with inter and intra agency staff/personnel, compilation of regular and special reports on program status, review of work of support staff or other specialists, and other related work as required. Although regulations, methods and procedures in the programs area are available, employees may exercise independent judgement and latitude in the work performed. The services of this role are to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local Regulations.
In accordance with SPB 3088 effective 10/7/23, $5000 will be added to the minimum starting rate of pay for all classifications within a Critical Vacancy Pay Supplemental Facility. Critical Vacancy Pay Facilities: Huttonsville Correctional Center and Jail, Mount Olive Correctional Complex and Jail, Western Regional Jail and Corrections Facility, Northern Correctional Facility (including Ohio County Correctional Center), Northern Regional Jail and Correctional Facility, Chick Buckbee Juvenile Center, Vicki Douglas Juvenile Center, Potomac Highlands Regional Jail and Correctional Facility, and Eastern Regional Jail and Corrections Facility (including Martinsburg Correctional Center) (SPB 3088)- Employees in this classification shall receive an annual base building pay differential each fiscal year of $250 after completing one year of service.
- If an employee is hired into a Critical Vacancy Pay Facility (CVPF) and leaves the facility, the additional pay differential of $5,000 shall be removed from their salary, unless transferring to another CVPF.
