Nature of WorkParks / Blackwater Falls State Park Under general supervision, at the full-performance level, checks guests in and out of the overnight accommodations at Blackwater Falls State Park and assists in the daily operation of the reservations desk area. Receives and processes reservations in person, by phone, or electronic means. Registers and checks in guests upon arrival. This position is the first and often the only interaction a guest has with park staff; therefore, the employee must interact with guests in a welcoming, friendly, and hospitable manner. Work shifts will include evening, holidays, and weekends. Completes end of shift reports. Performs related work. This is an overnight shift / night audit position. Operates room Master property management system. Registers guests by phone, in person, or by electronic means. Assigns appropriate rooms or cabins based on their availability. Collects money for lodging and services, and provides a receipt to the guest. Displays brochures, post cards and other information material in the desk area and other assigned areas. May oversee and coordinate the work of other lodge desk clerks. Completes and submits satisfactory required night audit reports after calculating totals for the shift. Ability to communicate easily and clearly, both orally and in writing. Interacts with guests and handles guest complaints in a manner consistent with the hospitality standards set forth by West Virginia State Parks. Ability to type and file accurately and efficiently. Ability to operate computers and office equipment. Ability to coordinate the work of others. Ability to use a calculator to perform basic math functions to count drawers and submit night audit reports on a daily basis that show purchases and payments made by guests.
