Position Summary
This position is responsible for auditing returns and books and records of individuals for the proper application of Wisconsin individual income tax laws. This position will conduct audits that involve complex issues and work with taxpayers to resolve complex or disputed audit issues. You will spend most of your time performing the following responsibilities :
- Examining the books and records of individuals with business interests to determine the correct tax liability.
- Preparing electronic workpapers and reports setting forth adjustments to reflect the required correct tax liability.

Salary Information
The starting pay rate for this position is between $34.00 - $41.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
The classification of this position is Revenue Auditor 3 , which is in Pay Schedule 07, Pay Range 02. Pay will be set in accordance with the State of Wisconsin Compensation Plan in effect at the time of hire. Starting pay for current state employees may vary based on applicable provisions in the Compensation Plan.

Background Checks : Due to the nature of this position, final candidates will be subject to criminal background, fingerprint, and tax compliance checks.

Probationary Period : A 24-month probationary period may be required.

Travel : This position requires regular in-state travel with some overnight stays. A valid driver’s license and ability to use a personal vehicle for travel is required. Reimbursement of travel expenses is available per travel guidelines.
