ECB is a state agency that delivers educational, noncommercial, and public safety media via Wisconsin Public Radio and PBS Wisconsin. ECB is seeking a Broadcast Engineer (Media Telecommunications Technician) at entry or senior level (depending on qualifications) for our Field Engineering Team.
Broadcast Engineers are responsible for a wide variety of duties, including maintaining, testing, and repairing broadcast systems; monitoring electronic systems status; and performing routine preventive maintenance and services for our regional sites in Southwest Wisconsin. Position Summary
Successful candidate will :
Provide construction, maintenance, and repair support for a wide range of predominately high-power Radio-Frequency (RF) electronic equipment and systems for the ECB
- Broadcast Interconnect
- Emergency Alert Systems and AMBER Alerts
- FM and AM
- State / Federal All Hazards Radio,
- Satellite downlink systems
Be expected to progressively develop technical expertise in
Occasional standby or on-call status and overnight work may be required.

Salary Information
This classification is assigned to pay schedule / range 06-63. The starting hourly rate for the Broadcast Engineer (Media Telecommunications Technician), entry or senior position will be $29.00 to $35.00 per hour depending upon candidate qualifications, plus excellent benefits. For current and eligible former State employees, compensation will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan. A 12-month probationary period may be required.
