Position SummaryThe Business Data Analyst is responsible for leading efforts to ensure compliance with state and federal reporting requirements and evaluating the performance of WEDC's economic development programs and activities. Salary Information$64,400.00 - $80,500.00 Annually Job DetailsThe Business Data Analyst will spend most of his / her time in these activities : Provide primary oversight of the Enable system. Manage data, inquiries, and systems to ensure data validity, accuracy, and accessibility. Proactively communicate and collaborate with staff to analyze information needs and functional requirements and translate them into application and operational requirements. Advise program staff about developing relevant benchmarks and metrics to measure the effectiveness and economic impact of WEDC's programs. Ensure compliance with federal and state laws for WEDC projects and implement effective compliance programs and processes for WEDC Projects. Develop and implement strategies to ensure timely and accurate data representation in operational systems. Compile and analyze data to meet reporting requirements; ability to query and manipulate data in a database, must be comfortable programming in SQL, Visual Basic, NET, and PowerBI. Recommend strategies to improve organizational data management. Creating and providing change and architecture documentation. Other duties as assigned. QualificationsEducation and Experience : Associates degree in Computer Science, Business, Economics, Statistics or related field or commensurate experience. Minimum of three years of experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Economics, or related field. Skills and Talents : Experience programming with scripting language and object-oriented programming languages. Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Solid mathematical aptitude. Ability to analyze and document complex business processes. Ability to make decisions under pressure. Experience managing databases and working with large data sets to perform statistical analyses. Statistical analysis : maybe preferred experience in R / Python, PBI or equivalent platform experience : able to develop "clean" data sets and tell accurate stories with it. Understanding of how economic development programs operate. Familiarity with concepts related to performance measurement. Strong project management, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Strong understanding of the full life cycle of software development. Ability to draw and design business models and use case diagrams. Experience with agile project management.
