These full time permanent positions can be headquartered in La Crosse, Wisconsin .

Position Summary
This position performs in a supervisory capacity in a Transportation Regional office in the functional area of Highway Operations. The major responsibilities of this position are to supervise professional and technical state personnel in the roadway, signing and marking and operations areas. This position interacts regarding highway related concerns, with engineering consultants, private industry, public utilities, local governments, federal and other state highway personnel. This position will direct the supervision of county staff to accomplish the routine and discretionary maintenance programs in a multi-county area of the region.
Salary Information
These positions are in schedule-range (81-30) with an annual salary of $104,000 - $118,456, plus excellent benefits . A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Certain positions within this Department may allow remote / work from home flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. For permanent positions that allow remote work flexibility, it is not anticipated that working outside of Wisconsin (or bordering cities) will be allowed because positions may need to report to office locations in Wisconsin on short notice.
This position offers a hybridized work schedule. The position will be headquartered at and required to work from the SWR Office in La Crosse, Wisconsin two days per week. All employees working a hybrid work schedule are still expected to telework from within the state of Wisconsin. This topic will be discussed more at the time of the interview.
Qualifications
Qualified applicants will have experience with all the following :
Examples may include : Oversight of transportation projects or programs in design / construction (interpretation of Facilities Development Manual, Highway Maintenance Manual, Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices or similar) including delivery of plans, specifications, and estimates (PSE). Managing project or program progress tracking / reporting. Negotiation and / or administering consultant contracts. Developing and tracking project or program budgets etc.
