This position is located at the Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center (NGLVC) in Northern Wisconsin in Ashland, Wisconsin.

Position Summary

The Outreach team is responsible for delivering statewide programming, events, support, resources, and services (collectively referred to as "Outreach services") to further the Wisconsin Historical Society's mission throughout the state. Outreach services reach audiences across the state, including all regions and socioeconomic statuses as well as multicultural and traditionally underserved communities.

The Outreach and Partnership Coordinator facilitates partnerships, develops programs for youth and lifelong learners, and ensures the successful delivery of cultural and historical programming in the region. The Outreach Coordinator will collaborate with local historical societies, educational institutions, Native communities, and cultural organizations, particularly those partners housed within the NGLVC. The Outreach and Partnership Coordinator works closely with Society colleagues and the partners housed within the NGLVC to create connectivity that fosters regional partnerships and opportunities for lifelong learners, students, and families in the northern region.

Salary Information

The salary will be between $28 - $31 per hour in accordance with the provisions of the current Compensation Plan. This position is in pay schedule 07, range 04; Civil service classification is Program and Policy Analyst. A12-month probationary period will be required.

Job Details

This position is primarily an in-person job with some flexibility for remote work seasonally or occasionally.

Qualifications

qualifiMinimally qualified candidate will have experience in all of the following :

  • Experience coordinating programs, events, or services within a nonprofit, education , or Tribal organization setting.
  • Experience managing logistics for events, including venue coordination, speaker engagement, and participant communication.
  • Experience building relationships and demonstrated success working with community partners and stakeholders.
  • In addition to minimum qualifications, a well-qualified candidate will have experience in one of the following areas :

  • Experience working with tribal histories and / or Act 31 as subject matter
  • Experience working with Native communities.
  • Experience in program development including designing, implementing, and evaluating programs or events.
  • Demonstrated experience managing partnerships within multiple community or regional partners and agencies.
