The Technology Team at SWIB supports, implements & develops industry-leading systems and platforms to support SWIB’s diverse and complex set of investment portfolios and strategies. The team at SWIB strives to be a trusted advisor and partner to the business that is valued as a critical contributor to SWIB’s continued growth and success. We effectively leverage technology to derive the maximum value from it and achieve SWIB’s business goals. We keep technology aligned with SWIB’s future direction and operate SWIB’s technology according to industry standards.
This role will work with a team of Business System Engineers who do variety of tasks like Business Analysis, Business Application Support, Application Enhancements, Testing, deployments. The team majorly works on various third-party investment market applications in IBOR, ABOR, OMS, EMS areas.
Essential activities:
- Provide support of applications and processes for business-as-usual activities, and project-related tasks
- Collaborate with team members, and other teams in the organization, with the objective of gaining knowledge, adding value, and solving problems
- Document application configurations, processes, and workflows
- Participate in efforts to design solutions, helping build technical specifications, based on business requirements
- Perform support tasks off-hours in team rotations proactively identifying issues to mitigate business impact
The Ideal candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Data Science, Economics, or Finance
- Recent graduates or 0-2 years of experience (will consider past internship experience within Financial Services or Technology sectors) ideally working on a technology team.
- Knowledge of SQL is essential.
- Familiarity with investment concepts
- A passion for learning new technologies/tools/products.
- Curiosity to continuously learn, solve complex problems, and improve processes.
- Ability to work in Madison, WI for an approximate 10-week period beginning late May/early June 2025.
