What We're Looking For: The Bureau of Budget and Finance is seeking someone adept in accounts receivable, auditing, and accounts payable to support the agency’s fiscal operations. The ideal candidate will be someone with experience using financial programs/systems, who enjoys collaborating with others, and can manage competing priorities.
This position offers a hybridized work schedule! This full-time permanent position will be headquartered at and required to work from the Madison Hill Farms State Office Building at 4822 Madison Yards Way Madison, WI at least 2 days per week. All employees working a hybrid work schedule are still expected to telework from within the State of Wisconsin. This topic will be discussed more at the time of the interview.

Position Summary
The Department is predominantly Program Revenue funded, with annual revenue of over $110 million coming from hundreds of different products in several program areas. Because DFI is funded by fees paid by customers, it is important that all revenue and expenses are associated with the correct appropriation and funding source.
In this role, you will provide essential financial functions to the department including receipt and cash management for the e-commerce initiatives in the agency. You will be responsible for accurately processing receipts, auditing travel expenses, asset and risk management responsibilities, processing payments, and performing other assignments for the Bureau of Budget and Finance.
Salary Information
This position is in schedule-range (02-13) with an salary of $25.32 per hour, plus excellent benefits. A twelve-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Qualifications
Minimally Qualified applicants must detail having experience performing all of the following in order to be considered:
- Working with and referencing financial principles and/or procedures
- Utilizing Microsoft Excel software or similar for to track and analyze data
- Interpreting and applying laws, rules, policies, and/or procedures
In addition to having experience in all of the above, highly qualified candidates will also have experience with one or more of the following:
- Tracking and/or reconciling accounts in a business setting
- Using PeopleSoft or comparable financial system
- Performing account audits and reconciliations
