Introduction
Responsible for supervision of personnel engaged in all street/road division activities including street and storm sewer maintenance, storm sewer locating, park and public facilities maintenance, yard waste site operation and management, snow and ice control and removal, and sign maintenance and placement, and other necessary duties as assigned.
Position Summary
This role is responsible for managing daily operations and schedules for the Public Works Department and for direct management of three full-time crew members. The Foreman manages the department budget, handles basic administrative tasks like approving timecards/payroll, and handling department receipts. The Foreman also provides support for the crew by engaging in public works activities and operation of machinery, equipment, and vehicles on a regular basis. The role requires evening and weekend hours from time to time, mostly during snow season for plowing and salting roads, but also for occasional emergencies or other times of need.
Salary Information
Full-Time Pay Rate $31.63-$34.75
Job Details
Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch.
Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
- Three (3) or more years’ experience in the construction field with direct public works knowledge and/or experience highly preferred.
- Previous use of municipal heavy equipment is required for this position.
- Possess a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License and CDL certification to include Class B and D with air brakes.
