Introduction
Provide high-level operations and planning as the Northeast Region Operations Manager (DOT Program Chief)! This position is responsible for the strategic planning and decision making for the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV), Bureau of Field Services, Northeast Region and is part of the DMV Management Team.
This position may offer a hybridized work schedule. The position will be headquartered at and required to work from the DMV Fond du Lac Customer Service Center in Fond du Lac, WI. All employees working a hybrid work schedule are still expected to telework from within the State of Wisconsin. This topic will be discussed more at the time of the interview.

Position Summary
This position provides high level operations and policy analysis, planning, and implementation of complex bureau programs and initiatives and emerging issues for the region. This position is responsible for assisting in the leadership of 5 supervisors and the operational management of one 6-day station, six 5-day stations and six 20 hour stations.
This position supports the Northeast Region Manager in the administration and provision of services and products related to motor vehicle licensing and vehicle titling and registration programs. These duties impact approximately 4.4 million cardholders and 5 million vehicle titleholders in Wisconsin.
Salary Information
This position is in schedule-range (81-02) with an annual salary of $83,200-$107,848 plus excellent benefits. A 2 year career executive trial period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

This position requires frequent travel on an independent basis to other Customer Service Center locations throughout the region and to other regions of the state to attend meetings. Overnight travel to attend quarterly meetings will be required.
Certain positions within this Department may allow remote/work from home flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. This topic and any remote work flexibility that may be available will be discussed in more detail in the interview process. For permanent positions that allow remote work flexibility, it is not anticipated that working outside of Wisconsin (or bordering cities) will be allowed because positions may need to report to office locations in Wisconsin on short notice.
Qualifications
Qualified applicants will have experience with each of the following:
- Experience managing or supervising employees who perform a wide range of program areas.
- Experience analyzing and interpreting data.
- Experience establishing and implementing policies, procedures, programs, or services
- Experience collaborating with a diverse group of business partners including external and internal parties (Business partners may include a division, bureau, partner agency, the public, etc.)
In addition to having all the above, well-qualified applicants will have experience with one or more of the following:
- Experience overseeing improvements to products, processes, or performance that resulted in increased efficiencies, productivity, or cost savings for the organization.
- Experience analyzing, interpreting, and applying motor vehicle laws and rules in Wisconsin.
- Experience utilizing project management principles, such as effective organization, work plan and timeline development, and progress tracking, or similar.
- Experience managing staff at multiple locations.
