The Division of Adult Institution is recruiting to fill a Food Service Manager position . This position is based out of Wisconsin Secure Program Facility located in Boscobel, WI.
Position Summary
This position ensures enforcement of the Department of Corrections dietary requirements for the age group residing within the facility. Directs and coordinates all staff and their training within the food service department, and is responsible for purchasing all needed supplies and equipment for the food service operation. Assists the Food Service Administrator in policy determination for food service, contract negotiations, food service budget preparation, and planning programs for food service. Maintain records, writes reports and performs related work as required.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule and range 81-04 with a starting pay of $20.65/hour - $38.05/hour. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A 12 month probationary period is required.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
This position may work holidays and weekends, and other times as needed and/or directed. This position performs physical tasks such as lifting, carrying objects, bending, walking, standing, and pushing/pulling carts.
Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have experience: Experience with Large-scale food production Experience with sanitation in a major food production setting. Experience performing food service management tasks (managing inventory, using food storage techniques etc.).
In addition to the above, well qualified applicants will have experience with : Experience supervising staff (e.g. hiring, training, assigning and directing work, performance evaluations, discipline, dismissal, settling grievances, etc.). Experience with nutrition and/or quality assessment (including modified and/or medically restricted diets). Experience with financial tasks (cost control, generating purchasing specifications/justifications, etc.).
