The Division of Adult Institutions is currently recruiting to fill an Inventory Control Coordinator Advanced position. This position will be headquartered at Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution in Plymouth, WI.
Position Summary

This position coordinates the daily activities of the Institution Stores and Persons in our Care (PIOC) Canteen operations, and trains, assists, and reviews the work of the Inventory Control Coordinator in those areas. Operations for the Institution Store includes determining and directing the flow of goods through the institution including storage, inventory, purchasing, and distribution to the various departments. Also included is assisting in the transfer of goods from outside of the institution to inside the institution to meet the department’s needs.

Operations for the Canteen include processing PIOC orders; determining and directing the flow of goods through the institution including storage, inventory, purchasing, and distribution. Directing, training, and organizing a PIOC work crew. Accurate record keeping; responsibility for physical maintenance and cleanliness; and, maintaining high security standards in accordance with Institution and Division security policies and procedures is necessary for all assigned areas.
Salary Information

The starting pay is $41496 per year, plus excellent benefits. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. The pay schedule/range is 03-11. A 12-month probationary period is required.

Job Details

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application. The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency to employment.

NOTE: This position is NOT eligible to work remotely
Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants will have experience:
  • Conducting inventory processes, including receiving and issuing stock.
  • Conducting purchasing processes such as contacting suppliers for availability, submitting purchase requests, contract/specific supplier usage, procurement card purchasing.
In addition to the above, well-qualified applicants will also have:
  • Experience using warehouse equipment/machines such as fork lifts, pallet jacks and safety ladders.
  • Training in safe food storage.
  • Experience utilizing computer-based inventory systems.
