Introduction

We want you to join our collaborative team of dedicated information technology (IT) professionals as an IT Production Support Specialist (IS Systems Development Services Specialist).

This position is a critical part of our team working to complete Mainframe projects for the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and the Division of State Patrol (DSP)!

This full-time permanent position is headquartered at the Hill Farms State Office Building on the near west side of Madison, Wisconsin and allows the option to work remotely up to 5 days per week. All employees are expected to work within the State of Wisconsin. This position will be required to come into the Madison, WI office for training, meetings and/or operational needs. This topic will be discussed more at the time of the interview. Our building is also conveniently located close to the restaurants, shopping, and entertainment of the Hilldale Mall.

Position Summary


What are we looking for?
This position is instrumental in the development of WisDOT DMV Driver Licensing and DMV Vehicle Title and Registration systems.

Duties include:

  • Perform advanced technical support and consulting for DMV Level 3 production application support.
  • Performing troubleshooting of reported incidents leading to the resolution of break fix and support issues.
  • Perform systems analysis and application development services for multiple DMV and DSP IT projects and service requests.
  • Review detailed system specifications to ensure consistency with business requirements and company methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain Mainframe COBOL/DB2 Batch processes and applications.
  • Utilize other Mainframe development tools (e.g., Ca-Gen client/server, CICS).

Salary Information


This position is in schedule-range (07-33) with an annual salary of $74,880 - $104,000 (or $36 - $50 per hour), plus excellent benefits. A twelve-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Qualifications


Minimally Qualified applicants must detail having experience performing all of the following in order to be considered:

  • Significant professional working experience performing advanced systems analysis and development services for complex/significant IT projects
  • Professional working experience reviewing detailed system specifications to ensure consistency with company methodologies, standards, and/or policies


In addition to having experience in all of the above, highly qualified candidates will also have experience with one or more of the following:

  • Professional working experience performing IT production support
  • Professional working experience performing client-server application development specifically with Mainframe tools
