What We're Looking For : The DATCP's Division of Agricultural Resource Management is recruiting for a Land & Water Resource Management Planner (Environmental Analysis & Review Specialist - Advanced) to fill an employment opportunity with the Bureau of Land and Water Resources .
This position is located at the Prairie Oaks State Office Building situated on Madison's southeast side and nestled atop a beautifully wooded and scenic hilltop venue. Telecommuting Option : This position may have the ability to telecommute up to 6 days per 2-week pay period! An approved telecommuting agreement is required before an employee may telecommute. Approval of the employee's telecommuting agreement and work schedule will vary based on the operational needs of the Division. All DATCP employees who telecommute are required to work in Wisconsin.

Position Summary
The Land and Water Resource Management Planner is responsible for statewide delivery of the Land and Water Resource Management (LWRM) Program, including development and implementation of County LWRM plans and annual workplans, which are a precursor to issuance of any Soil and Water Resource Management Grant funding (staffing and cost-share). In addition, the position provides environmental analysis and review for the manure storage and livestock facility siting programs, supports the Land and Water Conservation Board and Livestock Facility Siting Review Boards. This position reports to the Land and Resource Management Section Manager and functions under general supervision.

Salary Information
The classification for this position is Environmental Analysis & Review Specialist - Advanced which is in schedule-range 15-03 with starting pay will be between $33.50 - $37.50 per hour based on qualifications. This position is not represented by a collective bargaining unit. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan at the time of hire. A 12-month probationary period is required.
Job Details
DATCP does not sponsor work visas. Any appointment made will be contingent on the selected applicant being able to provide documentation of eligibility to work in the United States.
A criminal background check will be performed on the selected applicant prior to an offer of employment.
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid driver's license or the ability to provide one's own transportation for work purposes is required.
Occasional in-state travel of approximately 10% of the time which may include overnight stays is required.
Qualifications
Minimally qualified candidates will have each of the following :
- Experience with agriculture or conservation practices.
- Experience with conservation planning, land and water resource management planning, land use planning, farmland protection planning or modeling (i.e. plan review, development, compilation of relevant data to inform decision making or implementation).
- Experience or training with grants management, or implementation of an aspect / element of a grant.
