Introduction
The Department of Health Services (DHS) Division of Quality Assurance (DQA), Office of Caregiver Quality (OCQ) is recruiting for two Limited Term Employee (LTE) positions to serve as Licensing Eligibility Reviewers for the OCQ Background Check Program. DQA is responsible for protecting and promoting the health, safety, and welfare of persons receiving care and treatment from DHS-approved programs or facilities.
Working hours will be between 6am-6pm with the expectation of approximately 20-40 hours per week. This will be discussed in more detail during the hiring process. In person attendance at the central office (1 West Wilson St., Madison, WI) will be required for the first 2-4 weeks of training until you have demonstrated the ability to fulfill the responsibilities of the position. You may be eligible for remote work after this training period. In person attendance at office or Division meetings may also be required every other month.
Limited Term Employment (LTE) positions with the State of Wisconsin:
- Are not civil service classified positions, do not give any rights to a permanent civil service classified position, do not include benefits, and do not lead to permanent status.
- Wisconsin residence is required.
- No more than 1039 hours may be worked in one year.
Position Summary
As a Licensing Eligibility Reviewer for the OCQ Background Check Program, you will join a dedicated and friendly team working to safeguard the quality of Wisconsin’s health care system.
You will be responsible for helping to ensure that individuals seeking licenses to operate health care programs or facilities meet eligibility requirements under state and federal law. These requirements do not permit licensure of individuals with certain serious criminal offenses or governmental findings of abuse and neglect. You will review criminal history and other sources of data to determine whether applicants meet these requirements. You will also assist with answering questions from licensees and other partners regarding the program. As an integral member of OCQ’s team, you may also assist with other office duties, including assisting the Misconduct Investigation Program, the Rehabilitation Review Program, and other administrative tasks.
Salary Information
The pay is $21.66 per hour.
This position is classified as a License/Permit Program Associate and is in pay schedule and range 02/11.
Job Details
Applicants appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.
DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.
Employees must have access to both a private workspace and secure high-speed internet to work remotely. Mileage reimbursement to the employee’s headquarter location is not provided. Remote work flexibility will be discussed in more detail during the interview process.
Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:
- Experience following detailed procedures or checklists in a work or academic setting.
- Experience with computer programs such as Microsoft Office for creating documents, emailing, and navigating online databases or systems.
- Experience accurately entering data into computer programs or data systems (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Access, etc.).
- Experience meeting deadlines in a work or academic setting.
Well-qualified applicants will also have one or both of the following:
- Experience reviewing background check information or legal/criminal records in a regulatory, human resources, licensing, or similar environment.
- Experience communicating with external partners (e.g., applicants, licensees, agencies, etc.) regarding policy, documentation, or program requirements.
