The Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill a Nurse Clinician 4 position, located at Green Bay Correctional Institution in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Position Summary
Under the general administrative direction of the Nursing Supervisor, this position functions independently in an expanded clinical role giving expert direct and indirect nursing care to patients who have complex care needs. Demonstrates training in Nursing Practice and the Nursing process. Actively participates as a member of the multidisciplinary team in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. Consults with the multi-disciplinary team within the institution, other DOC institutions and the community on planning and evaluating care for patients with multiple medical and psychiatric needs. Identifies, develops and implements plans to meet the learning needs of persons in our care (PIOC) patients, staff, students, and community agencies related to medical care and re-entry of PIOC. Participates in collaborative program planning to meet the health needs of PIOC at the institution and in the community when they are due to be disch arged. Initiates and participates in research and quality improvement activities.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule and range 11-01 st arting annual salary between $93,600 and $113,276 per year depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire . A 12-month probationary period may be required.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
This position is not eligible for remote work.
Qualifications
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Applicants must possess current Wisconsin licensure as a Registered Nurse.
Minimally qualified applicants will have experience : Developing, refining, and revising a patient plan of care utilizing continuous patient assessment and evaluation of current treatment plan results. Coordinating chronic disease management including patient education, care planning, medication monitoring, and nursing and ACP follow-up care Collaborating with supervisors and other staff regarding general unit management.
In addition to the above, well qualified applicant will have experience : Evaluating care provided by nursing staff and providing appropriate feedback. Identifying and planning to meet learning needs of complex chronic disease patients and other correctional nursing staff related to delivering high quality nursing care.
Developing and participating in on-going quality improvement activities
