Please consider applying for our Office Operations Associate position for the Career and Technical Education Team within the Division for Academic Excellence, located at 125 South Webster Street in Madison, WI. This position includes the option of a hybrid work schedule (i.e., a combination of on-site and telework).

This role will provide you with the opportunity to earn a high degree of autonomy and provide administrative support while interacting with team members in a supportive environment. Work will involve a wide variety of activities and no two days will be the same! This position gets to be on site at conferences/conventions for our career and technical student organizations. These conferences allow students across the state to showcase their career skills, often through competitive and leadership activities. This position is located at 125 South Webster Street in Madison, WI. Position Summary


This position performs highly responsible administrative assistance and program support activities requiring a high degree of program knowledge and independent judgment for the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Team including: (1) program assignments in the areas of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, Health Science, Marketing Management & Entrepreneurship, Business and Information Technology and Technology and Engineering, and: 2) related Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO), and (3) one or more additional assignments such as, team-wide programs and/or initiatives requiring a wide range of responsibilities within the team. This position exercises a significant degree of independence and latitude for decision making, critical collaboration with related staff members, strong organizational skills, and effective communication skills, as well as responsive customer service and the ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.

Salary Information


Starting salary will be $15.76 per hour ($32,780 per year) in accordance with the provisions of the current Compensation Plan. This position is in pay schedule 02, range 10. A one-year probationary period will be required.

This position offers excellent benefits. The State of Wisconsin is a qualifying employer for the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.

Qualifications

A minimally qualified applicant must have experience:

  • Responding to internal or external requests or inquiries (e.g., via phone, e-mail, print, in-person, etc.)
  • Performing general accounting duties (e.g., processing invoices or requisitions, verifying deposits, completing payment request forms, running accounting reports, etc.)
  • Utilizing Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint), or similar, to proofread, maintain data, serve as the primary e-mail contact, etc.
  • Preparing or coordinating conferences, workshops, advisory committees, or work group meetings

Well qualified applicants will also have experience: managing multiple priorities; and/or, managing, creating, monitoring, or updating web page content; and/or, using STAR Finance; and/or, collaborating with multiple colleagues on a large project involving team-wide programs and/or initiatives.
