This position is headquartered at our Madison, WI office and will have the option to work hybrid for up to 2 days per week. This schedule may change based on training or operational needs. Employees need to report to the 201 W. Washington Ave. Madison, WI office on their first day for onboarding and orientation.

Position Summary
BCS has the responsibility for the oversight of the Wisconsin Child Support program as performed by 71 local child support agencies.
This position provides general administrative support to all sections within BCS. This position has extensive department wide contact with other programs and related documents of a sensitive nature. This position will develop knowledge of the state’s child support program and organizational structure, as well as a thorough knowledge of the department’s and division’s various procedures and policies.

Salary Information
The starting salary is $21.66 per hour ($45,052 annually). Pay for current State of WI employees will be based on the compensation plan in effect at the time of the appointment. Pay for current state employees who are transferring will be determined based upon the pay on transfer rules (higher level duties or equity) as outlined in the compensation plan in effect at the time of appointment.
The pay schedule/range is 02-11. A one-year probationary period may be required.
Job Details
Due to the nature of the position, final candidates may be required to allow DCF to conduct a security background check to determine whether the circumstances of any pending charges or convictions would be substantially related to the job being filled.
Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DCF sponsorship.) The Department of Children and Families does not sponsor visas, either at time of hire or at any later time.
Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have:
- Experience providing administrative support in a professional setting (responding to emails, tracking information, making travel arrangement, etc.).
- Experience performing data entry in a professional setting (entering documents received into system to be sent to other agencies for continuing steps, entering data onto spreadsheets for trainings completed, etc.).
- Experience working with multiple large data systems (KIDS, CARES, WiSACWIS, etc.)
Well-qualified applicants will have:
- Experience working with Child Support and/or other human service programs (government programs designed to help families or individuals have a better life, working with rules and processes that must be followed, etc.).
- Experience working with distance meeting technology (Microsoft Teams or Zoom).
- Experience working with Microsoft Office products (Word for drafting memos/agendas; Excel for collecting and tracking data; Outlook for email and scheduling meetings).
