ABOUT THE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT OF JEFFERSON COUNTY The Behavioral Health Division of Jefferson County Human Services provides mental health and substance-use services from birth to adulthood for all residents of the County. The primary focus of this division is to provide evidence-based treatment that is recovery oriented, trauma informed, and person centered.
Position Summary
WHAT YOU WILL DO Mental health and substance use concerns is a national crisis, affecting not just the individual, but families, friends, and many others. Jefferson County is recruiting to combat this crisis and provide Mental Health and Substance Use Intervention services.
SOME ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES You will be successful in this role by completing the following tasks and responsibilities:
- Performs crisis risk assessments / suicide risk assessments, evaluates clients’ safety to self and others through clinical interview and develops crisis plans and safety plans with the consumer to meet their safety needs.
- Provides ongoing assessments, responding to crisis situations and linking consumers with resources in the community and other agency resources and develops and implements crisis plan determining effective strategies and interventions.
- Performs bio psycho-social assessments for mental health and substance use consumers and diagnosis the consumer for mental health and substance use, under the direction of the medical director.
- Provides case management as identified in the psycho-social assessment.
- Provides psychiatric medication case management under the supervision of the psychiatrist.
Salary Information
We pay $32.59 - $34.44/ hour based on experience and qualification. Potential to earn up to $43.82/year.

Qualifications
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in social work or related field, 2 years' experience and Professional Licensure.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
- Substance Abuse Counseling Certification preferred.
- Trauma Informed Care training preferred.
Preferred Requirements:
- Master’s degree in social work or related field, 4 years' experience and Professional Licensure.
- Four years’ related experience and or training.
