Position SummaryAs NWC's Resident Care Unit Supervisor, you will be responsible for the management of the residential living unit and active treatment services. This includes managing programs and resources (staff and budget) to accomplish unit objectives and meet Federal Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) regulations for Intermediate Care Facilities-Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID). This position directs the planning, implementation, coordination, and administration of a complex multi-discipline program of appropriate active treatment care, habilitative and rehabilitative services for clients with intellectual disabilities, mental illness, and behavioral issues.Salary InformationThe starting salary is between $38.00 hour - $43.02 (approximately $79,00-$89,400 per year), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits.A 12-month probationary period is required. Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is in pay schedule and range 81 / 03.Job DetailsAll applicants will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled.All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by the NWC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.QualificationsMinimally qualified applicants will have all the following :

  • Experience working in a healthcare or residential setting (e.g. hospital, nursing home, group home etc.)
  • Experience providing supervision or leadership of staff (e.g. training, hiring, conducting performance evaluations, assigning / reviewing work of subordinates, ensuring compliance, etc.)
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, mental health disorders, and / or maladaptive behaviors.Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following :
  • Experience providing direct care services to clients with a dual diagnosis of intellectual disabilities and mental health disorders.
  • Supervisory experience in a 24 / 7 facility, or a department or specialized program within a 24 / 7 facility.
  • Experience scheduling staff for a 24 / 7 facility assuring adequate unit and shift coverage.The letter of qualifications is limited to one (1) page.
