The Division of Adult Institution is recruiting to fill a Corrections Security Director position . This position is based out of Prairie du Chien Correctional Institution located in Prairie du Chien, WI.
Position Summary
The Corrections Security Director position is responsible for the treatment, security, and general living conditions of all inmates assigned to the entire institution, generally and Restrictive Status Housing specifically. The Corrections Security Director is an administrator responsible for all activities within the Restrictive Status Housing unit and the development, implementation, and monitoring of overall security, goals, policies, and procedures of the institution. This manager is responsible for the security program for areas of the institution including control, center armory, perimeter, program areas, visiting, reception, security training, mail, and property. Additionally, this position directs an institution and department-wide program; this includes high-risk escape inmates and a complex step Restrictive Status Housing program for inmates.
Salary Information
Starting salary for this position is between $31.44 and $53.28 per hour (approx. $65395 - $110822 annually), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. Pay upon appointment for current or former State employees may vary and will be in accordance with language in the Compensation Plan, Statutes, and Administrative Code. This career executive level position is included in pay schedule and range 81-02. A two-year career executive trial period may be required.

The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

- Supervising staff (e.g. hiring, training, assigning and directing work, performance evaluations, etc.)
- Working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team in a correctional setting

- Investigating staff and/or inmate misconduct allegations
