The Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill a Teacher Supervisor position, located at Robert E. Ellsworth Correctional Center (Wisconsin Women's Correctional Center) in Union Grove, Wisconsin.
Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Correctional Center Superintendent at Robert E. Ellsworth Correctional Center, this position functions as the Teacher Supervisor with primary responsibility for providing direct supervision to assigned Academic teachers, Career & Technical Education (CTE) teachers, other Education staff, Recreation, and Employment Support Services (ESS). This position also assists in the overall operation and supervision of the Institution’s education programs; develops, coordinates, manages and evaluates a variety of other comprehensive education programs as assigned by the Education Director; assists in development and administration of the competency-based curriculum; and assumes responsibility of the day-to-day operations of the Education Department in the absence of the Education Director.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule/range 81-03 with an annual salary of $72,800 - $92,206 and add-on pay up to $2.97/hour for additional credits earned over and above those needed for basic certification, plus excellent benefits. Pay on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the State Compensation Plan, Wisconsin Administrative Code, and statutes. A twelve-month probationary period is required.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
This position is not eligible for remote work.
Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have: Credentialed as an Adult Basic Education instructor OR credentialed or eligible to be credentialed in Career & Technical Education by the Wisconsin Technical College System (must be a CTE program offered by the Department of Corrections) Experience teaching and performing classroom management Experience developing and updating curriculum
In addition to the above, well qualified applicants will have: Experience supervising staff (e.g. hiring, training, assigning and directing work, performance evaluations, discipline, dismissal, settling grievances, etc.) Experience facilitating the professional growth, development, and education of staff (e.g. mentoring, coaching, training, instructing)
