Job Description
The ESG product organization is recruiting for an ESG Product Manager to execute on the ESG strategy for the business on a global scale. This includes strategic planning, roadmap development and execution, commercialization support and thought leadership. Reporting to State Street’s Global Head of ESG Product, Asset Services this role will play an integral role in the build out of our product roadmap and execution and launch of new products.
Function
As VP of ESG Product and ESG subject matter expert, you will drive planning and execution of the firm’s ESG product roadmap working with cross functional teams to deliver ESG solutions for corresponding regions and customer segments. As such, you will be responsible for product definition and proactive engagement with clients/prospects. This role requires deep domain expertise of the ESG market, datasets, and ESG integration into investment end-to-end workflows.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage ESG product portfolio for Institutional Services clients.
Establish effective interactions between product and platform teams, delivery and service teams, segment teams, IT teams and corporate functions
Engage with customers and stakeholders to identify client needs and corresponding solutions
Work with sales and marketing across the organization on developing GTM plans, including assisting with sales training, participating in events/events and collateral development.
Establish training forums to ensure understanding of ESG product portfolio across State Street.
Create forums internally and externally with clients and industry participants to encourage idea sharing and innovation.
Understand the market, competitive forces and client direction, and make related product recommendations, to ensure the strength and competitive positioning of the ESG product portfolio.
Evaluate and work with 3rd party data vendors to evaluate various datasets and develop partnerships
Job Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and an advanced degree in Business Administration or other related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in roles including strategic planning and product management.
Demonstrate skills in problem assessment and resolution as well as collaborative problem solving in a complex setting.
Possess excellent communications skills within an organization, with clients and with industry participants.
Proven ability to influence and lead across the enterprise, aligning priorities and investments in product builds to drive maximum commercial value.
Proven ability to detect emerging trends, and encourage and make recommendations for creative change.
Proven ability to achieve results with the persistence and influence necessary to work effectively with a wide range of internal and external constituents.
Proven ability to handle multiple priorities and lead team efforts.
Strong analytical, interpersonal, written, and oral presentations skills.
Proven track record in product delivery and key stakeholder communication
Comfort with ambiguity and dynamic environments while understanding process and constraints of a large organization
