The Thought Leadership team at State Street is looking for an experienced Thought Leadership Manager to be an essential part of our strategic research initiatives on the most pressing issues for our clients. This role is critical in identifying emerging financial and economic trends, developing high-impact insights, and managing the end-to-end development of thought leadership content. The successful candidate will oversee the development and dissemination of high-quality research, manage workflows across internal teams, and coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure timely and impactful content delivery. Additionally, this role will play a vital part in optimizing research operations, improving collaboration between research and business units, and ensuring that thought leadership efforts align with broader organizational priorities.

Salary Range
$130,000 - $205,000 Annual

What You Will Be Responsible For
As Thought Leadership Manager you will
- Assist in the conduct of in-depth research on macroeconomic and sustainability trends, financial markets, regulatory developments, and industry themes relevant to clients.
- Ensure thought leadership content is well-researched, data-driven, and aligned with client priorities.
- Manage research pipelines, editorial calendars, and project timelines to ensure timely delivery of insights.
- Develop and refine processes and methodologies for research production, ensuring consistency and operational excellence.
- Work closely with internal teams (research, strategy, marketing) to streamline workflows and optimize research output.
- Maintain high editorial and analytical standards, ensuring research output is accurate, insightful, and well-structured.
- Engage with external partners, industry groups, and research institutions to enhance the depth and credibility of insights.
- Advanced Degree (Masters or PhD)
- 12 years’ experience in the financial services industry, including in dealing with a large, complex organization and legal structure with multiple business lines
- Strong understanding of global economic and sustainability trends, financial markets, and industry dynamics
- Experience in collaborating with and building networks across a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external, including policymakers, industry bodies, and peers
- Ability to manage projects across multiple stakeholders, timelines, and key deliverables
- Excellent analytical skills and strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong understanding of the role of risk management in GSIBs and its implications for thought leadership
- The ability to work in a fast-paced, unstructured environment
