What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Engagement Assistant (Part-Time) position at STATE THEATRE NEW JERSEY?
Reports To: Director of Communications & Community Engagement
Responsibilities: The Community Engagement Assistant is responsible for assisting with STNJ's community engagement and education programs, including, but not limited to the Milk & Cookies music & storytelling series, the New Brunswick Heart Festival, Summer Movie Series, Performances for Schools, and Community Engagement Committees
Specific Duties:
- A flexible schedule varies each week and includes a combination of in-office time and attendance at Community Engagement events. May include evenings and weekends. A schedule will be established bi-weekly
- Assist with logistical aspects of STNJ's community engagement and education programs, including (but not limited to):
- support and marketing materials
- advance setup and day-of program assistance
- Set up and work information tables at public events
- Effectively use social media and other tools for targeted community engagement and event promotion
- Other duties and special projects as may be assigned
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma, plus 1-2 years relevant experience
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Strong networking and cultivation skills
- Ability to work a varied schedule to include nights and weekends as dictated by the Community Engagement schedule
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products with emphasis on Excel and Word
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge and appreciation of performing arts
- Fluency in Spanish
Salary: $20.00 Hourly for 20 hours a week
