Salary Range: $45,000 - $60,000 per year based on experience
Position Summary
State Theatre New Jersey seeks a proactive Donor Relations Manager to manage and grow a portfolio of individual donors giving $100-$9,999. As a key Development Team member, the role supports generating $2.5M in contributed income across various giving channels. Responsibilities include building donor relationships, increasing retention and upgrades, reactivating lapsed donors, and identifying new prospects. Additionally, the role oversees Donor Lounge operations and contributes to special events, focusing on aligning fundraising efforts with organizational goals and diversifying the donor base.
Key Responsibilities
Donor Portfolio Management (65%)
- Stewardship: Develop strategies to engage, upgrade, and retain individual donors.
- Retention & Reactivation: Reengage lapsed donors with personalized outreach and improve retention rates.
- New Donor Prospecting: Identify and cultivate potential donors through events, outreach, and data analysis.
- Acknowledgements & Reporting: Ensure timely thank-you letters, send impact reports, and provide data-driven insights to refine strategies.
Special Events & Donor Lounge (25%)
- Lounge Operations: Coordinate staffing and stock with Concessions and Event Services teams; manage and train volunteer ambassadors.
- Event Support: Collaborate on annual fundraisers and donor receptions, handling vendor relations, budgets, logistics, and day-of execution.
Cross-Department Collaboration (10%)
- Partner with internal teams to align donor strategies with fundraising goals.
- Expand donor diversity through outreach and engagement initiatives.
- Support consistent messaging in donor communications, campaigns, and reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 3 years in development or donor relations with proven fundraising success.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled in using donor databases (Tessitura preferred).
- Flexible for evening/weekend events and committed to the arts and State Theatre New Jersey’s mission.
