Under the general direction of Executive Office staff and in a learner capacity, the Graduate Student Assistant will assist the External Affairs Unit and other Executive Office staff with core duties related to office administration, event planning, research, compiling and organizing information, and updating databases.

Department Information

The State Treasurer's Office is a small department located at 901 P Street, Sacramento, CA 95814. It is just down the street from the State Capitol with public transportation and parking garage options nearby. The building is next to the Franklin D. Roosevelt Park, which is a wonderful place to exercise and enjoy the beautiful landscape during the fair-weathered months. The neighborhood around the building is filled with great dining options, coffee shops, a fitness club, and several day cares.

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. Official sealed transcripts or your original diploma (with embossed seal) will be required prior to appointment. If it is determined that a candidate does not meet all Minimum Qualifications, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the classification. All candidates who are determined to not meet the Minimum Qualifications will be contacted in writing and will have 10 business days to respond with additional information supporting their Minimum Qualifications for the classification. Candidates who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board.
