Duties : Administrative Computing, part of IT / Computer Services at the State University of New York (SUNY at New Paltz, invites applications for the position of Programmer. This is a full-time position focusing on supporting our student information system, related third party software and reporting / analytical initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Administrative computing, this role will involve writing code, troubleshooting issues, creating documentation, and implementing software solutions to support the administrative offices of the University.
Duties of the role include but are not limited to :
- Design, code, and support custom software solutions to assist administrative departments
- Troubleshoot issues and answer questions regarding our student information system and related software
- Develop and maintain data synchronization processes between our student information system and third-party software
- Develop and maintain custom reports and analytic solutions
- Continue expanding our datamart initiatives by adding new datasets
- Assist in improving team efficiency through tooling and common data structures
- Document processes and procedures
This role is part of the Administrative Computing department, whose mission is to support the administrative offices of the campus who provide services for our faculty, staff and students. This role will primarily work with others in Administrative Computing and other departments in IT Services. Depending on the project, they may also work directly with administrative offices during requirements gathering, testing, or troubleshooting.
