Duties : The Division of Enrollment Management within the State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz welcomes applications for the role of Special Events & Project Coordinator. Reporting to the VP of Enrollment Management, the Special Events & Project Coordinator will work with all departments in Enrollment Management and other University stakeholders to coordinate the fall student open house and two spring accepted student days for undergraduate enrollment. In addition, the coordinator will plan and execute yield events for graduate and accelerated programs in collaboration with department stakeholders. Coordination will include all scheduling, coordinating programming, communications, and program assessments. The coordinator will work with stakeholders on continual assessment and improvement of the New Student Onboarding programs. Additional special projects may be assigned on an as needed basis. This is a full-time, 12-month position.
Duties of the role include but are not limited to :
- Preparation and execution of the open house and yield events including but not limited to sign ups, building registrations, volunteer coordination, catering orders, work orders, vendor coordination, signage and programming.
- Coordinate and review all communications about events both internally and externally.
- Assess all aspects of events, report out and make recommendations for continued improvement.
- Manage the New Student Onboarding programs for transfer and first year students including but not limited to coordination and review of communications, assisting with program planning, assessment of the programs and implementation of updates for continued improvement.
- Report on assessment aspects of New Student Onboarding such as student survey, staff and faculty surveys, compliance with program requirements.
- Collect and report on key indicators of success including tracking numbers of applications / deposits after events, tracking melt percentages, and retention numbers.
- Build event calendar for graduate programs and assist with planning and execution of events.
- Other Enrollment Management special projects coordination as needed.
