What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Professor, Painting and Drawing position at State University of New York at Plattsburgh?
Expected to begin Fall 2025, this tenure-track position will be responsible for teaching courses in the areas of painting and drawing, as well as in the Studio Art Program. The successful candidate may be asked to teach courses in a distance learning format. Management and oversight of the Painting and Drawing studios as well as scholarly work (research and/or creative activities) and service to the department, college, university, and professional organizations is also expected. The Art & Design Department includes artists and art historians actively involved in their own creative practice, exhibitions and publications, who also get fulfillment by helping students mature in their work, grow in self-confidence, and move on to lead fulfilling lives. We are part of the School of Arts & Sciences which provides excellence in learning opportunities for all students at SUNY Plattsburgh through a core liberal arts education.
