The job of the Building Manager is to monitor and oversee the Student Life Center, ensuring safety, customer service and procedure adherence. This includes supervising and providing guidance for the student employees in Open Recreation, Fitness, and Outdoor Pursuits.

- Attending all designated training sessions for the Building Manager position
- Serve as a first responder to injuries and emergency situations that occur in the Student Life Center and Park Center Pool.
- Supervise building and employees of the Student Life Center including Open Recreation, Outdoor Pursuits and Fitness staff.
- Attend monthly training sessions run by Building Manager Supervisor.
- Assist in the training of new student attendants using the training guide provided, if needed.
- Ensure building coverage and patron safety.
- Ensure student recognition forms are submitted for positive or negative behaviors regarding job duties
- Follow procedure for patrons who do not act in accordance with department and college policies.
- Must possess a general knowledge of Open Recreation rules and policies, problem solving skills and excellent customer service skills.
Days/Hours Needed
This job requires availability Monday – Friday from 6am to midnight, and 8am to midnight on Saturdays and Sundays. Opportunities to work hours during holidays and breaks are preferred.

Required Qualifications
- Must hold certification in CPR/AED/First Aid or be willing to become certified within 30 days of hire.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, and problem solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a fitness/wellness center
- Previous experience working with students, staff, faculty, and affiliates at a university
Physical Demands
- Ability to transport up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to traverse spaces for supervision, cleaning, and safety proactivity
- Ability to assist with cleaning and distribution of equipment, towels, and fitness items
- Ability to type and closely attend to sales and facility access through our computing systems
