What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard for Swim Lessons - Spring 2025 position at State University of New York, Cortland?
/Duties
Lifeguards will supervise, oversee, and monitor all persons in the pool area for adherence to all polices. Lifeguards will also practice preventative supervision and respond to emergencies in accordance with their training. Orientation, In-service training is required at least once a semester, more if deemed necessary by a supervisor.
Days/Hours Needed
Sundays 1-2 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays 3-4 p.m. and 4-5 p.m. from Feb. 27 through May 4. Additional hours to be determined.b
Campus Location/Bldg.
Park Center’s Holsten Pool and the Student Life Center pool.
Required Qualifications
Must be a current SUNY student with current certification in lifeguard training/first aid, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer (as recognized by the New York State Health Department).
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience as a lifeguard
Physical Demands
Ability to respond to emergencies in a manner consistent with lifeguard/cpr certification.
