/Duties
Student staff duties include but are not limited to providing telephone and occasionally face-to-face customer service to our campus community including students, faculty, and staff.

- troubleshooting myRedDragon access
- assisting with password resets
- configuring mobile devices to the SUNY Cortland network
- assisting with Microsoft Office applications
- troubleshooting general hardware and software issues
- gathering the required information to escalate any ticket that the student is not able to resolve on their own
Days/Hours Needed
Monday to Thursday 7:45 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday 7:45 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sunday Noon to 8 p.m.
Friday 7:45 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sunday Noon to 8 p.m.
- All tech students are required to attend a full day training session prior to the start of the fall semester, typically the Friday before classes begin
- A minimum availability of 10 hours per week is required

Required Qualifications
- Must be a current SUNY Cortland student
- Eagerness to provide customers with technology help
- Willingness to learn new technologies
- Good written and verbal communications skills
- Experience troubleshooting issues on PCs or Apple computers
- Experience troubleshooting issues on smartphones
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using SUNY Cortland web-based applications (i.e., Outlook Web Access email, Microsoft Office 365, Brightspace, Blackboard, and myRedDragon)
- Intermediate or advanced knowledge of PC and/or Apple Computers
- Intermediate or advanced knowledge of iPhone (iOS), Android, and/or other smart phones/tablets
- Experience working with multiple web browsers
- Experience with troubleshooting network connectivity issues
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
