What are the responsibilities and job description for the Writing Center Consultant - Spring 2025 position at State University of New York, Cortland?
/Duties
The primary responsibility for the person in this position is to support students with their writing processes and projects in one-on-one (in-person and online) sessions alongside a staff consisting of Graduate Assistants, Composition Program faculty, and the Writing Center Director.
Further responsibilities include: participating in Writing Center Consultant development and training sessions with the Writing Center Director, attending mandatory scheduled staff meetings, creating and conducting writing workshops for classes in collaboration with the Writing Center staff, and promoting the Writing Center through in-class visits. There are additional opportunities to participate in collaborative research and assessment projects if the person in the position is interested.
