State Fire is currently looking for a full-time Fire Suppression Technician based in Gillette, WY . Experience preferred, but willing to train the ideal candidate. Ideal candidates possess mechanical skills and possess a willingness to learn heavy equipment fire protection systems primarily for the mining industry.
Your role as a Fire Suppression Technician will include the following responsibilities :
- Dry chemical, clean agent, and special hazard systems.
- Inspection and replacement of fire suppression tanks.
- Inspection and replacement of cartridges.
- Semi-annual inspection and replacement of cartridge seat washers ensuring hoses are secure and in good condition.
- Semi-annual battery replacements in control units and modules.
- Maintaining data log and control unit information.
- Electronic and manual actuator maintenance and testing to ensure proper functionality.
- Check squib dates and replace, when necessary, per manufacturer’s instructions.
- Regular maintenance of discharge lines, nozzles and detection loops, and replacement of damaged parts when needed.
- Daily communication with site planner and utilization of company time-tracking and field service mobile applications.
- Regional travel with overnight stays to job sites for up to a week at time required.
