Duties Description Description :
The New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF), with over $20 billion of assets under management, is seeking an experienced private credit investment professional to lead and manage private credit-related investments in its growing internally-managed private markets portfolio. This role will play a pivotal role in shaping NYSIF's investment strategy by spearheading private credit initiatives, leveraging your expertise in alternative assets, and fostering strong relationships within the investment community. The Private Credit Portfolio Manager will report to the Head of Private Markets. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
Leadership
- Lead and mentor the private credit team, providing guidance, training, and development to junior staff members.
- Shape the private credit strategy by driving new initiatives and establishing NYSIF as a key player in the alternative investment community.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (legal, accounting, ESG, custodial, etc.) to ensure seamless execution of investment transactions.
- Support senior leadership on strategic projects, including asset allocation and market studies.

Additional Comments For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
